Natural gas isn’t universally used in homes, and here in Northwest Vermont and Northeast New York there are regions where it isn’t available. Houses in these areas must instead rely on electricity, oil, and propane. If you live in a home that does have a natural gas connection, it’s important to know that only licensed professionals are legally permitted to work on gas plumbing lines or any appliance connected to a gas main. This keeps homes and neighborhoods safe.
Red Rock Mechanical, LLC has plumbers licensed to work on natural gas piping. We can repair gas pipes that are leaking, replace aging gas lines, or install new ones to expand use of natural gas in your home, such as setting up a new gas stove and range. Your safety is our first priority! Contact us today at our Burlington, VT office to arrange for the gas piping services you need.
Thank you for installing the furnace! So far, so good. This weekend will be the test!

Benefits of Using Natural Gas in a Home
We recommend that homeowners who have natural gas connections look to see where else they can put natural gas to work. For example, you can have a natural gas dryer installed. Expanding how you use natural gas is an excellent idea because of its benefits:
- Cost: Natural gas is a less expensive fuel than electricity, propane, and oil.
- Convenient: You receive natural gas through a municipal line, so it’s always there when you need it. You don’t have to worry about missing scheduling delivery for heating oil.
- Powerful: Appliances that run on natural gas can produce larger levels of heat than their electrical counterparts. Natural gas furnaces are especially powerful.
- Clean burning: Natural gas burns more thoroughly and cleanly than other heating oils.
- Domestically produced: Our natural gas comes from U.S. sources
Flexible Gas Line Installation
What are most gas lines made of? You might be surprised by the answer: the majority of residential gas lines are made of flexible material that allows for ease of installation and to fit them into tight places. If you immediately think that this sound like it could be dangerous, don’t worry.
Flexible gas lines are constructed of corrugated stainless steel tubing (abbreviated CSST). The material was first approved for residential use in 1988 by the National Fuel Gas Code. When you call on our services to install new natural gas piping, we’ll put the best material to use to get the job done.
Gas Pipe Repairs and Other Gas Line Services
If you have any reason to suspect that there’s a leaking gas line in your home, shut off the gas main and call for help right away. Gas manufacturers place a special tincture into the gas supply so that you can smell it—it’s a distinct "rotten–egg smell." Don’t attempt to locate a leak on your own. Let our professionals gas line plumbers take care of everything. We can also check over your gas lines annually during one of our maintenance visits to help catch potential trouble spots early.
No matter your gas piping needs, count on Red Rock Mechanical, LLC. We answer the phones 24 hours a day—you won’t get a recording—and we’re dedicated to doing the job right the first time
